Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that

teaches students critical skills needed  to respond to and manage a first aid, choking

or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical

services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains,

broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.   This course also teaches adult

CPR and AED use.

Heartsaver Adult &Pediatric

First Aid-CPR-AED

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is designed to meet the regulatory

requirements for child care workers in all 50 United States. It teaches child care providers

and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first

few minutes until professional help arrives. The course covers the Four Steps of Pediatric

First Aid and modules in Pediatric First Aid, Child/Infant CPR AED, Adult CPR AED, and

Asthma Care Training.

BLS Provider

The AHA’s new BLS Course has been updated to include science and education from the

2015 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic

life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a

focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.  In the Instructor-led course, students

participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an

AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing.

Students also complete a written exam.

Heartsaver and BLS Provider courses are offered as a 2-part blended learning option.  Part 1

is web-based and accessible 24 hours a day. Through case-based scenarios, interactive

activities and videos, this course teaches the program concepts.  Upon successful

completion of Part 1, students receive a certificate that allows them entrance to a skills

practice and testing session. For full course completion, Part 1 must be paired with a

hands-on skills practice and testing session (Part 2) with an AHA BLS Instructor.

Note:  Fees for Part 1 and Part 2 are separate.  Part 1 fees are payable when you begin the 

online portion and Part 2 fees are payable when you reserve your skills session.

AHA’s video-based, classroom Family & Friends® CPR Course teaches adult Hands-Only™ CPR,

adult AED use, child CPR and AED use, and infant CPR. It also teaches how to relieve choking in

an adult, child or infant.  The course offers training for those who want to learn CPR and do

not require a course completion card.
